A trip to Zhong Hai, and the abandoned boat.

6 Nov

On Friday i went for a little excursion with my friend Julien to Zhong hai park. It is a few blocks away from us and sports all manner of “interesting” features. First we raced each other on our bikes, and although he beat me i put it down to the fact that he has an awesome bike (with gears and everything!) and i have a shitty thing that cost only a quater af his beast… ;p We packed a picnic lunch, some processed cheese and a tasty baguette.
We tied our bikes to whatever we could (bike thievery is rampant) then hired a boat on the lake.

Zhong Hai has a fake ship. A big aircraft carrier restuarant/hotel that has been closed for a while now, the place is falling into ruin, smashed glass, and rust have taken over what was only built four years ago, the folley of Zhong Hai. You can still climb climb it though, and although it is abandoned, there is still somethimg to be said of looking through grime covered windows and seeing marble stairways and lush carpets covered in a layer of dust. As well, The boat still flies the flag of China, though there is no one around to really see it.

All in all I had a beautiful day, spent floating on the lake, eating baguette and talking crap… its a pity the life vests didn’t do up, But i am Australian, so i can swim πŸ˜›

Hi Christi, glad to see you are having some fun over there!! Poor old Peter can’t read the pale grey writing so I am gonna have to print it all out for him. We were pleased to see that SOME supplies actually get through – wonder where those pencils are now?? Hope somebody is enjoying them anyway!! Did you get our e-card on your birthday?
